Aquaculture Short Course Day 2- A presentation by Jeffrey Bruney

Day two of the aquaculture short course consisted of more involved discussions on system design by Dr. Timmons and Dr. Ebeling. Nitrification and water quality were addressed, in addition to waste management and gas transfer modeling.

Afterward Jeffery Bruney, a student of the aquaculture short course, did a quick presentation of his work on urban farming. Bruney is an avid gardener who manages a community garden he started in Queens, NY. The produce from his garden is donated to a local food bank. The garden relies on support  provided via volunteering and donations. Bruney attended the Aquaculture Short Course in hopes of finding a way to incorporate Aquaponics into his work. He later hopes to do similar projects in his homeland, Dominica.
